The Sound of Afro Soul by Kihaya Blues on this A World In London! Click:

On the day we most needed some musical healing in London Town it arrived fortuitously in the form of Kyazi Lugangira, creator of Kihaya Blues Band. Kyazi sings of love and unity with global vision, through a rich, engaging voice powerful enough to soothe a thousand souls, and silence the constant stream of sirens we heard as the Emergency Services raced past our London Bridge studio to Westminster. Kyazi’s compositions emanate from his chosen instrument, guitar, which he only took up at the age of 27, leading him astray from a promising and lucrative career as a barrister. It’s career change that has been fully supported by his family in Tanzania upon realising the full extent of his talent and passion for music, his mother in fact, pointing out the potential of their melodic local language, Kihaya, as a natural catalyst for his songs. March 22nd, 2017 will be remembered as the day when tragedy came back to our capital city and some people never returned home to their loved ones. At AWIL, we will also remember it as the day when Kyazi’s Afro SOUL fed ours.
