Sophie Alloway

Lydian Collective
Aaron ‘Lazslo’ Wheeler - keys
Todd Baker - guitar
Ida Hollis - bass
Sophie Alloway - drums

5th December 2018
Jazz Café, Camden, London, UK

Aaron Wheeler
Lydian Collective support jazz legend Bill Cobham at Camden's throbbing live spot the Jazz Café. Unveiling a new single 'High 555' and building on the success of their debut album ‘Adventure’, (which has generated over 1 million album streams on Spotify in just 6 months).

Their debut album helped to put them firmly on the map of the instrumental Jazz Funk Fusion scene, and leading onto recent appearances at festivals such as Cheltenham Jazz, ‘So What’s Next’ Festival in The Netherlands, Cambridge Jazz Festival and plays on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction show; as well as features on Spotify’s ‘The State of Jazz’ and ‘Fusion Fest’ playlists.
Todd Baker

After the intricate and rhythmically complex ‘Adventure’ album, they have now shifted gears on this single with a hi-octane stomping four to the floor danceable fun and funky groove, led by a juicy distorted synth bass line!

Ida Hollis
‘High 555’ takes the listener through the usual compositional twists and turns that have made Lydian Collective tunes so popular, but this time the focus is on a solid groove to get the body moving! This single is available here https://lydiancollective.bandcamp.com/album/high-555 and will be part of an EP, which is due to be released in Spring next year.

Milo Fitzpatrick
Part of In the Round at the Roundhouse (Camden) Portico Quartet performed music from their fourth studio album Art in the Age of Automation, as well as luminous classics from their much loved back catalogue, and live debuts of previously unheard new music.

Keir Vine
Mercury Prize-nominated Portico Quartet have always been an impossible band to pin down. Sending out echoes of jazz, electronica, ambient music and minimalism, the group created their own singular, cinematic sound over the course of three studio albums, from their 2007 breakthrough Knee-Deep in the North Sea, and 2010 John Leckie produced Isla, to the self-titled recording Portico Quartet in 2012. Now rebooted as Portico Quartet, with the return of Keir Vine on hangs and keys after a brief spell as the three-piece Portico, the group released their fourth studio album Art In The Age Of Automation on forward thinking indie jazz and electronica label Gondwana Records in August 2017. It’s been hailed as possibly their finest album yet, with the band simultaneously delivering both a return to their mesmeric signature sound and fresh new sonic departures in their new music.

JD Kelleher - Intoxicating Magnetism

JD Kelleher

Date - 17th March 2017
Venue - Dublin Castle, Camden, London, UK
Current release  - Avenge The Maybes

Future Performance 2017
6th April 2017 - Wolverhampton, The Robin 2 (Supporting Bernie Tormé)
7th April 2017 - London, The Borderline (Supporting Bernie Tormé)
8th April 2017 - Brighton, The Prince Albert (Supporting Bernie Tormé)

The King of the Cuissardes, JD Kelleher, romped the Dublin Castle into a writhing pit of sweaty bodies and leather glory on St Patrick's Day in Camden this year. Outside overgrown men bumped into one another in a drunken bagatelle but inside his lair Kelleher mixed passion and charisma to create an intoxicating brand of animal magnetism that drew everyone toward his bare-chested embrace.

Matt Lackford
Following his triumphant occupancy of the coveted No. 1 spot at the heights of the Irish Rock Chart with his debut single “Love Will Tear Us Apart”, along with his second single “Imagery” reaching No. 2 in the Irish Rock charts, JD Kelleher thrusts himself back to familiar territory at the top of the (Rock) pile with his most exciting release to date; “Avenge The Maybes”.

Jason Santos
“Avenge The Maybes”, out now, is soaked in classic JD Kelleher swagger and defiance. Kelleher draws upon his rage, humour and character to deliver a truly powerful performance that strikes a unique chord with his audience across all platforms of performance.

Grapple with Big Guys

Chased by the throat into adrenaline kick backs
I stood in front of them with my arms stretched wide open
There was just me and the big guys
and around me they drank classics for beer
