Assistant AWIL producer Norman Druker spends some time with renowned guitarist/composer Ramon Goose on A World in London radio.

Since his last visit to A World In London a year ago, guitarist and singer Ramon Goose is back from Tiznit (the Moroccan-based inspiration of his last CD) and has returned a few steps into his blues roots. He played us a searing electric blues set, powered by a valve amp made from a reconstructed Bell & Howell film projector. Even on a low volume setting, he shook the studio. Our conversation roamed from the power of old blues survivors “rediscovered” in the 1960s, Ramon's joys of playing the Latin American music learned from his Argentinian father, to his introduction to African music by his mother. Never one to stand still, Ramon has a new project underway, working with “a well known producer” (a former guest on A World In London). We're sworn to secrecy, but when the record comes out and hits it big, we're sure that Ramon will visit us – maybe even with Mr Producer – and shake the studio again.
